I can not believe that it has almost been a year since I posted any pictures. Eliza had a great year this year her first year of Pre-K. She had a wonderful teacher, Mrs. Walker who taught her so much. She attended Pre-K with one of her best friends from daycare and that made the transition so much easier. It was a full day Pre- K program and we are so blessed with everything that she learned. The few weeks of school the teacher even brought in an incubator and they got to watch the eggs hatch and had baby chicks live in their classroom for about a week She brought the fairy tales to them, had theym continue to have imagination play yet taught them responsibility and practicing the alphabet and so much more. We are forever grateful to Mrs. Walker for giving Eliza a great first experience of "real school."
Eliza school ended about two days ago but she was unable to attend school because she was sick. She was so cute the night before she got sick saying, mom tomorrow when you wake up after the awards you are going to have a kindergartner living in this house. Yes, you are right baby girl. She did not have the end of the year awards but her daddy tried to make her end of the year special anyways by taking her out for a Daddy Daughter Day since she was unable to attend school.
What is coming up???? On Saturday is Eliza's 5th birthday. I can not believe my baby is turning 5! In many ways it seem like she just came home. She was too cute tonight, she was talking to her American Girl Bitty Baby that she has named Layla (I think I gave her another name orginally but she changed it to Layla, which I think is super cute!). She said to Layla, "Layla when Mommy (Eliza) was a baby she was the passie queen." I chuckled in my head, thinking yes, you were you little stinker, it is crazy what she remembers. She has been doing a lot of reimessing the last few days. She has talked about when she was a baby, what was her first word? It is so cute to tell her little stories. So for her 5th birthday we asked her what type of party she wanted. She said a pool party. We had a pool party for her 3rd birthday and she loved it. It was a FROG birthday party. This year, she is really into the Disney movie Frozen. She wants to constantly be called Elsa. It is too funny because that was her great great grandmother's name in Germany on my mom's side and that was definately in the running of names for Eliza. She constantly tells Richard and I, why did you not name me Elsa, I LOVE that name. I know, baby girl, but Daddy and I love the name Eliza and it fits you so well because you are such a determined little girl. So after trying to persuade her to have a Candy Land or some cute themed party as I swore before I became a mother that I would never have a hokey "character" birthday party, here I am having a pool party with Elsa plates and FROZEN rings birthday party. You never know, maybe even some "Let it Go" music will show up at the party.
What is on my mind today? Last year, Eliza went to an awesome Vacation Bible School Camp and she has been looking so forward to it this year, that she had me start looking for the singed ups in the arly this year. Well, I finally signed her up for VBS and she has been listening to the CD, only to get a disappointing email that they have changed the criteria for entrance into the camp and they are no-longer serving the Pre-K population. This is going to be very disappointing for the little girl that has been talking about attending bible camp for weeks now. It is going to break my heart to tell her this news in the morning. I wish I could find another VBS camp to send her too over this week as we even have vacation delayed to send her.
This is from Christmas of last year! I am trying to find a recent picture of her!
On another note... she will be in her forth horse show and the first horse show that it is not at Campbell Lane's Farm. They will have to trailer the horse. She will be riding CoCo for this horse show. She is putting her 'heals down' and her rhythm seems like one with the horse. We will see!
